Who Charwa helps

Built for small teams with important ideas

Charwa helps local businesses, independent founders, startups, and nonprofit organizations create and maintain the digital products they need to move forward. Some come to us with an app idea. Others need a better website — or simply someone dependable to keep their existing website working.

1

Small businesses

Modern websites, useful functionality, and ongoing support without hiring an internal technical team.

2

Founders and startups

Practical help turning an app idea into a focused native iOS or cross-platform product.

3

Nonprofits and community organizations

Accessible, manageable websites that make programs, information, and opportunities easier to reach.

The situation we recognise: too small to maintain an internal digital team, but the work has become too important for a DIY website, an unreliable freelancer, or an unfinished app project.

Choosing an approach

Native or cross-platform

There is no universally right answer, so we choose per project — after we understand who your users are and what the app has to do.

Native iOS

Best for deep Apple integration, maximum performance, and an iOS-specific experience.

Swift and SwiftUI, built against Apple’s own frameworks Widgets, Live Activities, HealthKit, CarPlay, Apple Watch Camera, sensor, and offline work that has to feel instant Your users are on iPhone and iPad first
Cross-platform

Best for launching on iOS and Android using a shared product foundation.

One codebase serving both app stores Faster route to a testable product on every device Lower cost to maintain two platforms over time You need reach before you need platform-specific depth

We work in both, and we will tell you which one your project should use — including when the honest answer is that you do not need an app yet.

How we work

A clear path from idea to launch

We begin by understanding the problem and defining a realistic scope. Then we design and build in visible milestones, test the finished product, support its launch, and remain available for ongoing improvements.

01 Discover A 30–45 minute call about the problem, goals, and budget range.
02 Define Requirements, integrations, success criteria, and an agreed scope.
03 Design Flows, wireframes, then interface design approved before we build.
04 Build Development in milestones, with working progress shown regularly.
05 Test Devices, browsers, accessibility, performance, and agreed revisions.
06 Launch Hosting, domain, or App Store submission — then verify production.
07 Support Documentation, training, 30-day launch support, optional care plan.

Why Charwa

Six things we can actually promise

You talk to the people building it

A small team, no account-manager layer. The person who answers your email is the person writing the code.

Real native iOS depth

Not a website wrapped in an app shell. When a project calls for native, we build native.

We ship our own products

Charwa Originals means we live with the same decisions we recommend to you — App Store review included.

Support is a real offering

Every project includes 30-day launch support, and we stay available afterwards. Launch is not the last email you get from us.

Local enough to meet in person

We are in Doylestown. For Bucks County and Greater Philadelphia clients, that means a real conversation at a real table.

Honest scoping, no surprise change orders

New requirements get estimated separately and openly. We never promise a fixed timeline before discovery.

12 Seconds of the World

Explore a living map of real places through exactly 12 seconds of unedited video and original sound — made for travellers and anyone curious about how the world really looks and feels.

Every recording is stationary, unstaged, and preserved exactly as it happened: no music, narration, filters, or artificial effects.

Doylestown, Pennsylvania

A Doylestown company, built to travel

Charwa is based in Doylestown, in Bucks County. It is where we work, where we meet clients, and where the company is registered. Being small and local is not a limitation we apologise for — it is why you get direct answers.

Website work is naturally strongest close to home, across Bucks County and Greater Philadelphia. App projects we take on for founders and organisations anywhere in the United States.

We focus on Bucks County and Greater Philadelphia, where we can be in the room when it matters. Work further afield is possible, but we will say so honestly before we take it on.

Mobile App Development

We build focused, well-scoped apps — the version that proves the idea and can be shipped, not the version with every feature anyone suggested. Native iOS in Swift, or cross-platform when reach matters more than platform depth.

Native iOS

Best for deep Apple integration, maximum performance, and an iOS-specific experience.

Swift and SwiftUI against Apple’s own frameworks Widgets, Live Activities, notifications done properly HealthKit, CarPlay, Apple Watch, Sign in with Apple Camera, sensors, maps, and offline behaviour that feels instant Your audience is on iPhone and iPad first
Cross-platform

Best for launching on iOS and Android using a shared product foundation.

One codebase serving both app stores Fastest honest route to a testable product everywhere Lower long-term cost of maintaining two platforms Sensible when the app is content, forms, and accounts You need reach before platform-specific depth

We choose the technology per project. Charwa works in both native iOS and cross-platform, and the recommendation comes out of discovery — your users, your integrations, your budget, and how long the product has to last. We will show you the trade-off in writing before anyone commits.

What an app project looks like

A focused MVP runs about 12–20 weeks

PhaseWhat happensTypical
01Intro and fit — a 30–45 minute call about the problem, goals, budget range, and decision-makers1–2 days
02Discovery — users, requirements, integrations, technical constraints, success criteria1–2 weeks
03Scope and proposal — deliverables, exclusions, milestones, price, responsibilities, change rules3–5 days
04Structure and UX — user flows, wireframes, feature priorities, content requirements1–3 weeks
05Visual design — the interface, approved before full development begins2–4 weeks
06Development — built in milestones, with working progress demonstrated regularly6–12 weeks
07Testing and revisions — devices, accessibility, performance, functionality, agreed revisions2–3 weeks
08Launch — App Store listing prepared, release, and production verified1–2 weeks
09Handover and support — documentation, access transfer, training, warranty fixes30-day support

App Store review timing is controlled by Apple and cannot be guaranteed. We never promise a fixed timeline before discovery.

How we keep projects honest

No development begins until scope, payment schedule, and responsibilities are approved. One primary contact on your side gives consolidated feedback. Work is shown at agreed milestones — never hidden until the end. Two revision rounds included per design milestone unless the proposal says otherwise. New requirements are estimated separately instead of silently expanding the project. Delayed content, access, or feedback shifts the delivery date — we will say so early.

Also true

Sometimes the right recommendation is a good mobile website rather than an app. If that is the case for you, we will say it on the first call.

Website Development

A website that loads quickly, works properly on a phone, meets accessibility expectations, and that your team can update without calling us every time. Built to be handed over, not held hostage.

Structure before decoration

Sitemap, page purposes, and content requirements agreed first — so the design solves a real problem instead of filling space.

The functionality you run on

Booking, enquiry forms, donations, applications, payments, and integrations with the tools you already use.

Accessible by default

Keyboard navigation, colour contrast, semantic markup, and screen-reader behaviour reviewed before launch — not retrofitted after a complaint.

A CMS your team will use

Editing that a volunteer or office manager can handle, with documentation and a training session at handover.

Fast on a real phone

Performance measured on mid-range devices and ordinary connections, because that is what your visitors actually have.

Findable locally

Clean markup, sensible metadata, and local search fundamentals set up properly at launch.

Timelines

Most websites take four to twelve weeks

The single biggest variable is content. Projects that arrive with copy, photography, and one decision-maker finish at the fast end of every range below.

And then we keep it working

Every website we build comes with 30 days of launch support. After that, most clients move onto a care plan so updates, fixes, and security do not become somebody’s weekend problem.

Website Management →

No website, an outdated one, or one nobody can update?

Start a Project
← Services

Website Management

Someone dependable to keep your website updated, secure, and working. We do not need to have built it — most of the sites we look after, we did not.

What is included

Content and copy changes

New pages, updated text, staff changes, events, prices, photos.

Updates and patches

Platform, plugin, and dependency updates applied and checked, not just clicked.

Bug fixes

Broken forms, layout problems, things that stopped working after an update.

Security and monitoring

Uptime checks, SSL, hardening, and a plan for when something goes wrong.

Backups and recovery

Regular backups that are actually tested, so a bad day stays a small day.

Performance and accessibility

Speed improvements and accessibility fixes as ongoing work, not a one-off project.

Small feature additions

A new form, a booking change, an integration — scoped before we start.

A reliable technical contact

One address to email, and a person who answers it. This is the part clients say they were missing.

How it works

Two ways to work with us

Some organisations need a monthly care plan. Others just need a specific task done properly. We assess either within 1–2 business days and tell you which makes more sense for you.

We do not publish rates, because a five-page brochure site and a booking platform are not the same job. Send us the site and we will quote it.

Ongoing

Monthly care plan

Updates, monitoring, backups, and an agreed allowance of change requests each month. Best if your website matters to how you get work.

From $[monthly] / month
As needed

Single agreed task

One clearly scoped piece of work, quoted before it starts. Best for a specific fix, a content overhaul, or a one-time improvement.

From $[hourly] / hour

Send us your website and we will tell you what it needs

No obligation, no audit fee. We will look at it and reply within 1–2 business days with what we would fix first.

Why we make our own products

Client work teaches you how to build. Owning a product teaches you what it costs to keep something alive — and that is the part clients need us to understand.

Attribution

Every Charwa Original carries the same line: Created and published by Charwa LLC. The company and the products stay clearly connected.

More to come

Originals is a line, not a single app. We will add to it when a product is genuinely ready — not to fill this page.

Building a product of your own?

We take founders’ products through the same process we use on ours.

About

A small team in Doylestown, building things meant to last.

Charwa is a digital product team in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. We build native iOS and cross-platform apps, modern websites, and our own products — and we stay involved after launch, because that is when most software quietly falls over.

Charwa

The name

Charwa means nomadic family. It is the right name for what we do: small groups that move, adapt, carry what matters, and look after each other along the way.

Software is the same. Products move — new devices, new requirements, new expectations. Building something that can adapt is more useful than building something that was perfect once.

It also sets our expectations about clients. We would rather have a few relationships that last years than a stream of projects we never hear about again.

How we operate

Rules we publish so you can hold us to them

Charwa is new. Rather than claim a track record we have not earned yet, here is exactly how we run every project — and what you should expect from us.

01

No development begins until scope, payment schedule, and responsibilities are approved.

02

One primary client contact gives consolidated feedback, so decisions do not contradict each other.

03

Work is shown at agreed milestones — never hidden until the end.

04

Two revision rounds are included per design milestone unless the proposal says otherwise.

05

New requirements are estimated separately instead of silently expanding the project.

06

Delayed content, access, or feedback shifts the delivery date — and we tell you as soon as it does.

07

Charwa never promises a fixed timeline before discovery.

08

Every project ends with documentation, access transfer, training, and 30-day launch support.

Privacy Policy

Who we are

Charwa LLC (“Charwa”, “we”, “us”) is a digital product company registered in Pennsylvania and based in Doylestown. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect

When you contact us, we collect what you choose to send: your name, email address, organisation, the nature of your enquiry, and anything you write in the message field.

We also collect basic technical information automatically — pages visited, referring site, approximate location, browser and device type. This is aggregate analytics used to understand how the site is used. [Confirm your analytics provider and whether it is cookie-based before launch.]

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry, to prepare proposals and scope documents, to deliver and support work you have engaged us for, to meet our legal and accounting obligations, and to improve this website. We do not sell your information, and we do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to operate: email and file hosting, website hosting, analytics, and — where relevant to a project — accounting and payment processing. Each is bound by its own agreement and may only use your information to provide that service. We will disclose information if legally required to do so. [List named processors here before launch.]

Cookies

This site uses only what is necessary to function, plus analytics as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential parts of the site will still work.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Project records are kept for as long as we are engaged, and afterwards for the period required by tax and contract law. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@charwa.biz and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, tell us and we will honour them.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but if a breach affects you, we will tell you.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes affecting existing clients will be communicated directly.

Before launch: have this reviewed by a Pennsylvania attorney. It is written to be honest and readable, not to substitute for legal advice.
